Blue Monday
Blue Monday – help and support for the darkest time of year
This web section has been launched to coincide with ‘Blue Monday’, which this year is the 19th January.
This is thought to be the day of the year when people most struggle to cope. There are many reasons for this – it’s dark and cold, many of us are facing financial pressures after Christmas or are struggling with high winter fuel costs.
Local help is at hand
Newlon provides homes across nine boroughs in north and east London, and each area offers a wide range of support services available throughout winter and all year round. We’ve created a dedicated page for each borough to highlight local services and activities that can help you maintain your physical and mental wellbeing, or support you if you’re experiencing financial difficulties.
Each page includes links to local authority services, community organisations and details of how to access Newlon’s own financial inclusion and hardship support. These local services offer advice and assistance with health and wellbeing, financial challenges, and provide many free or low‑cost opportunities to meet others and stay active.
