Safeguarding

At Newlon, we are committed to helping keep our residents safe from abuse, neglect, exploitation and harm. Safeguarding means protecting children and adults who may be at risk and making sure they can live safely, independently and with dignity.
We work closely with local authorities, social services, the police and other specialist organisations to help protect people who may be at risk. Our staff and contractors are trained to recognise safeguarding concerns and to take appropriate action when they believe someone may need support.

Safeguarding concerns can include:
• Domestic abuse
• Neglect or self-neglect
• Financial abuse or exploitation
• Modern slavery
• Physical, emotional or psychological abuse
• Child exploitation or grooming
• Unsafe living conditions
• Concerns about a person’s welfare, health or ability to keep themselves safe

Support available
If you share a concern with us, we can help you access support from relevant services, including:
• Adult and children’s social care teams
• Domestic abuse support services
• Mental health and wellbeing services
• Local safeguarding teams
• Emergency services where there is an immediate risk of harm
We will always take concerns seriously and handle information sensitively. Where necessary, we may share information with appropriate agencies to help keep people safe.

If you are worried about a child, an adult at risk, or someone living in a Newlon home, please contact us. We will listen, take your concerns seriously, and help ensure that the appropriate support is put in place.
