Sustainability
Our approach to sustainability
At Newlon we are committed to supporting our residents to reduce their energy consumption and to help them lead sustainable lifestyles. We also aim to make the homes we provide and our workplaces as sustainable as we can.
Greener homes
Moira Close in Haringey is home to our first energy saving homes. The 12 properties contain a range of 'Green Features' that have reduced carbon dioxide emissions as well as lowered fuel costs for heating and hot water. You can read more about Moira Close here http://www.newlon.org.uk/about-us/developments/landmark-developments/moira-close/.
We are proud to be involved in the 'Arsenal on the move' regeneration project, one of Europe's largest regeneration programmes. The development has many environmental initiatives include green roofing, nesting boxes for swifts and the development of Europe’s largest solar array at Highbury Square. This will provide hot water and under floor heating for the whole development. Check out the Newlon at Arsenal brochure for more information.
A Greeer Newlon
In October 2011 we relocated to a new group HQ in Hale Village. The move allowed us to review our green credentials and consider the envonmental impact of our day-to-day working lives. Back in April, Corporate Services Director Barbara Duff spoke to 24 Housing Magazine about the move and how we are looking to a greener future at the new HQ. You can read the full article here.
