Guidance for submitting tenders for Newlon contracts

Procurement and guidance for submitting tenders

We want every pound we spend on services, works and supplies to deliver the best possible outcomes for residents. Our procurement approach helps us choose contractors and suppliers through open, fair and transparent processes that balance quality, reliability and cost. Rather than simply selecting the lowest price, we look at overall value, considering service quality, long-term costs, safety, reliability and the experience residents will receive. This helps us secure high-quality services that represent good value for money.
Procurement also supports our wider aims for residents and communities. When we award contracts, we look for opportunities for suppliers to deliver additional social value, such as employment, training and apprenticeship opportunities, support for residents facing financial hardship, and other community benefits. We also expect suppliers to work ethically, support environmental sustainability and meet high standards of conduct and accountability.

Resident involvement is an important part of our approach. Where services directly affect residents, we aim to involve them in helping to shape service requirements, contributing to the assessment of potential suppliers and providing feedback on service delivery. This helps ensure that services reflect resident priorities and continue to meet expectations over time.
The register below provides information about contracts for housing management and other resident-facing services. We publish this information to be transparent about who provides services on our behalf and how we spend residents’ money.

We are eager to involve residents in significant procurement exercises so that they have the opportunity to influence priorities and help shape the services we provide. If you are interested in getting involved in procurement activities, helping to assess potential suppliers or sharing your views on services that matter to residents, please contact Emma Preston-Dunlop, Resident Involvement Manager, who can tell you more about current opportunities to get involved: getinvolved@newlon.org.uk
