Senior Building Safety Manager

Description

Newlon Housing Trust is a successful charitable housing association and one of the major providers of new affordable housing in north and east London.

Supporting the Head of Building Safety and the Assistant Director of Building Services, you will be responsible for the development and leadership of the Building Safety team, ensuring that all fire and building safety duties in Newlon’s high rise and higher risk residential buildings are carried out effectively and robustly.

You will also oversee the development of building safety cases for all identified high risk buildings within the requirements of the Building Safety Act, working closely with colleagues to develop plans for the delivery of fire safety work and services in high-risk buildings and take a leading role in the formulation of resident engagement strategies.

With a degree, or equivalent in a relevant Construction, Fire or Health and Safety discipline, you will be a member of a relevant professional body (e.g. IOSH, RICS, CIOB, IFE, IFSM or equivalent institution) and have excellent knowledge of current Building and Fire Safety laws and regulations. Proven substantial experience in a professional management role, you will be a great communicator, able to work effectively at all levels and will have excellent budget and contract management skills.

In return, you can expect 27 days holiday, a non-contributory pension, excellent benefits and a flexi scheme.  You’ll also be working out of purpose-built offices that form part of the award-winning Hale Village regeneration project, and are situated just two minutes’ walk from the major transport interchange at Tottenham Hale.

Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.
