Building Surveyor

Description

Newlon Housing Trust is a successful charitable housing association and one of the major providers of new affordable housing in north and east London.

You will work closely with our Head of Repairs and Data Delivery to deliver Newlon’s Responsive and reactive work streams, ensuring work is carried out to a very high standard and with a focus on quality, cost control and customer satisfaction.

Carrying out regular on-site inspections, you will take the lead in co-ordinating works programmes, liaising with residents as necessary, working collaboratively with both contractors and customer to resolve complaints efficiently and effectively. You will have extremely high standard and be a champion for innovation, challenging contractors constructively when necessary to ensure that Newlon continues to provide our customers with a high quality customer service experience.

As a member of either CIOB or RICS and with solid experience of working on property surveying, site inspection or quality manager in the UK property/housing sector, you will be confident and highly skilled in producing in depth inspection reports, preparing schedule of works and taking on project management responsibility. With excellent knowledge of housing law and regulations, you will also have up to date and demonstrable knowledge of industry standards, HHSRS and general health and safety relating to the property industry.

A confident and clear communicator both in person and in writing, you will also be able to work well with people in all areas of your role, building excellent working relationships with colleagues, contractors and customers, managing expectations and working to resolve issues constructively and to very high standards.

Salary: £55,112 per annum plus opportunity to earn performance related bonus
