Caledonian Road burst water main – update for residents
24th Feb 2026
Thames Water have informed us that a major 30 inch main burst, which caused the flooding on Caledonian Road and the loss of supply for the Estate and surrounding areas.
As of 7 p.m. today they have confirmed that they have isolated the issue and water supply has been restored to the wider area.
They are now carrying out further valve operations to gradually return the remaining customers to supply. Water pressure will continue to improve as these works progress, and supplies will be fully restored as quickly and safely as possible.
The Barnsbury Community Centre remains open and offers a dry space that you can access if you need to. We are expecting a further limited supply of bottled drinking water to be available for emergencies shortly.
There is also currently running water and toilet facilities at the Community Centre. If your supply has not yet been returned you can get water at the Centre if you can bring a container.
The London Fire Brigade have crews onsite at the Estate who are working on clearing standing water and assisting with safe access to some of the most affected areas.
