New Camden affordable homes are a hit!

New, below market rates, rented homes at Belmont Street in Camden are proving a hit.

26 social and intermediate rent homes primarily aimed to provide housing for local Key Workers or those on lower incomes have been snapped up.

The attractively designed Belmont Street development is situated just moments from the heart of Camden in sight of the iconic Roundhouse and world-renowned Camden Market.

High private rental values make it extremely difficult for Key Workers and those on lower incomes working locally to be able to afford to live in this area of London. This innovative development to help make this possible has been delivered through a partnership between Newlon Housing Trust and Vistry Group.

Feedback on the intermediate rent flats at Belmont Street has been very positive with residents saying, “it’s been a great experience”, and that moving here has “been really life changing”.

The London Borough of Camden have also praised the scheme saying, “the delivery of Intermediate Rent homes on the Belmont Street scheme has provided a very welcome supply of genuinely affordable homes for the people currently living and working in Camden and needing to find a solution to their existing housing situation.”

Ezi Ogbonna, Newlon’s Director of Business Development comments, “I am really pleased that we have been able to provide new affordable homes for local working people on lower incomes in such a sought-after location.”

Rob Wilkinson, Vistry Group’s Managing Director for their London South office said, “It’s always extremely rewarding to form part of a joint venture which has been able to provide high quality and genuinely affordable housing within an area of London which will clearly benefit from this; and our mixed tenure development at Belmont Street in Camden is testament to this approach”.
