Ways to get involved
There are many ways to get involved at Newlon which range from methods that involve quite a lot of commitment to other less time consuming tasks. If you would like more information about any of the options below, please contact our Resident Involvement Officer Ewan Moar on 020 7613 8084 or at ewan.moar@newlon.org.uk.

Newlon News
Are you a budding writer or have a good idea? We want our newsletter to be as relevant to you as possible so we are always looking for ideas, or better still, articles written by you. Take a look at the Newlon News page for the latest editions of the newsletter.

Estate Agreements
This is a new method, currently being arranged, to give you better information on our services if you live on an estate. The aim is to be clear about what your responsibilities are and what standards you can expect of our services. Residents will be consulted as the Agreements are being written and at the end of each year, so we can get your opinions on what we can do to improve. We will then update the Agreement where necessary for the following year.

Resident and Staff Joint Estate Inspections
Residents can accompany staff on routine inspections to check that the standard of cleaning, maintenance and gardening is as good as it should be.

Direct consultation
Sometimes we may invite you to give your opinions on a specific issue through a one-off meeting, by post or via the website. This may be for something like setting an Estate Agreement or giving feedback on a new policy.

Informal local groups and meetings
Where issues arise and there is no formal Residents' Association, we aim to meet with residents locally in a way that suits their needs. If you are interested in setting up a Residents' Association take a look at the local resident group’s page.
Improvement budget
We want you to tell us how we can change your area for the better. Maybe your estate has some unused space that could be a children's playground or there may be a need for some lockable bike sheds? You or your local group (and Newlon staff) can propose ideas for such improvements to the Residents' Forum who oversee this fund.
Fun Days and Events
We organise and support social events where possible to encourage better, friendlier neighbourhoods. These may be small local events organised by Residents' Associations or large events such as Residents' Fun Day.
Information
We give you information in a variety of ways. This is to ensure that you are aware of your rights and responsibilities; the services that are available to you, the standards that you can expect of them and how well Newlon is doing at achieving those standards.
This may be through reading our newsletter - Newlon News, logging on to our website or by reading the annual Residents' Review sent to you in the post every autumn. It could also be through attending meetings such as your Residents' Association or the annual reviews of your Estate Agreement.
Postal Surveys
This is a very easy and effective way to get your opinions heard and genuinely helps improve services. We survey our new residents soon after they have moved in, current residents on different areas of Newlon's services and hold an independently run satisfaction survey every three years. If you do complete a survey we will use this information to identify problems and work to improve them.
Telephone Consumer Panel
This is a group of residents that we get opinions from over the phone. It only takes ten minutes or so and gives you the chance to participate very easily at your own convenience.
Residents' Forum/Residents' Associations
