| Date | 20 Sep 2006 |
Newlon Housing Trust’s Ashburton Triangle – sited right next to Emirates Stadium is now complete and the first residents have moved in. This unique building is the centrepiece of the affordable housing being developed in conjunction with Arsenal’s move from their historic Highbury home to Emirates Stadium.
The Triangle provides 249 apartments for Key Workers, 131 Shared Ownership apartments and 118 for rent at below market rates – helping the people who provide the services we all rely on to be able to afford to live in the communities where they work. All the rented accommodation has already been let and more than half of the Shared Ownership homes have been sold.
Uniquely The Triangle has been designed by HOK Sport, the Architects for the new stadium, and is Europe’s largest zinc-clad building.
Rented apartments for Key Workers start from £95 a week for a one bedroom apartments and Shared Ownership apartments start at £130,000, for which a minimum income of just over £17,000 is required to buy a 40% stake.
