Key Worker rented accommodation is £608 a month for a 1 bedroom flat, which is approximately 75% of market rates. A 40% share of a Shared Ownership apartment can be bought by someone on a salary of £25,000. Average flats on the open market are currently £200,000 in Waltham Forest requiring a salary of over £60,000 (Source: Land Registry - May 2007).
