Clissold Estate
The Clissold Estate, consisting of 74 flats in 1930’s built blocks has been completely transformed, since it was transferred to Newlon from London Borough of Hackney in 1999.
Previously the estate was in desperate need of repair and modernisation and attracted a high number of squatters.
Working in partnership with Lovell a £2.7 million refurbishment project was put into action and new roofs, windows, kitchens, bathrooms, heating and door entry systems were provided along with internal redecoration, extensive external repairs and landscaping.
A third of these flats (26 in total) were sold to key workers under Newlon’s shared ownership scheme (link).
