Lough Road West

The Lough Road West development, completed in Autumn 2007, is made up of several buildings near Caledonian Road. The site consists of 249 affordable homes including units specially designed for wheelchair users. 180 of the homes are available at low cost rent for local families and the remaining 69 have been sold on a Shared Ownership basis.

The focal point of the schemes is a new green, family-friendly communal space situated between the Cottage Road and Piper Close developments.

Residents from the local community were very much involved with the design of this area. Working closely with the architects, B Consultants, they even tested out their ideas in 3D computer animation. The aim was to encourage safer pedestrian access to the area and less traffic.
