Highbury Square

Highbury Square is the brand new development built on the site of the original and famous Arsenal Stadium.

The stadium’s magnificent east and west stands, which were built in the early 1900s, are being retained and converted and the existing pitch area is being transformed into a memorial garden by the award winning landscape architect, Christopher Bradley-Hole. The development is being designed by world renowned architects Allies and Morrison. The existing north and south stands have been transformed into two stunning new blocks of affordable and private apartments.

europe's largest solar array at highburyIn total, the development will create around 700 new homes, 69 of which are provided by Newlon. These apartments have built in kitchens, tiled floors and bathrooms, under floor heating and are carpeted. On top of our units at Highbury is Europe's largest solar array, which along with the combined heat and power boilers (CHP) potentially provides cheaper and efficient heat and power which is environmentally friendly.

Our units at Highbury include:

* 8 wheelchair units for people referred to us from the local authority split over the North and South Stand, which are managed by one of our BAME partners, Apna Ghar.

* 57 apartments available for Shared Ownership (part-buy, part-rent).

* 4 apartments for people referred to us from the local authority.

Highbury Square forms part of the Arsenal Regeneration Programme where we are the Social Landlord for the project. In partnership with Arsenal FC and Islington Council we have provided employment, housing and community projects to an area that was once rated in the top 10% for deprivation in the UK. Visit our Newlon at Arsenal section for more information on this award-winning scheme.
