Aids & Adaptations

If you have problems getting around your home, we may be able to make some adaptations which would make it easier for you. For example, you may need an extra handrail to help you up the stairs or a level access shower as you can no longer climb into a bath. As long as the layout of you home allows us to make some changes we will do so.

For small alterations, such as installing an extra handrail, we will do the work free of charge. We will also arrange an appointment to see an occupational therapist, so we can make sure the work we do is suitable for your specific mobility needs. More costly improvements (over £1500.00) are likely to be eligible for a Disabilities Facilities Grant, which in most boroughs we will help you apply for, through our contractors ComCare.

Service standards:

* All applications are responded to in writing within 10 days.
* All requests for aids and adaptations under £1500.00 will be actioned by us within 3 months.
* All grant applications for aids and adaptations over £1500.00 to be submitted within 4 months.
