Celebrating 35 years of providing homes & servicesNewlon Housing Trust

40th Anniversary Residents' Fund

This year we celebrate our 40th birthday. If you are a Newlon Resident we have been working in partnership with the Residents Forum to set up a special fund so that you can join in the celebrations.

There are 3 ways that you can take advantage of the fund:

  • The Newlon Challenge for Young People – why not get fit or tone up your mind on us? We will provide funding of up to £200 per person or £400 a household for young people aged up to and including 18 years old to take part in sports or education training. This programme is being administered by our Community Regeneration Team – Newlon Fusion.

  • The Healthwise GP referral scheme – helping you to get fit and stay healthy. If you have an existing physical or mental health problem we can help you access a personalised fitness training scheme that has already helped thousands of people in London to improve their long-term health.

Please contact Chloe Atkins on 020 7613 8091 or by e-mail: chloe.atkins@newlon.org.uk to find out more about taking advantage of this scheme.

  • Take a trip on us! If you want to organise an outing or day trip for your estate, block or residents association we can subsidise your trip. Apply to Chloe Atkins for more information.

Terms and Conditions

We want to encourage as many of our residents as possible to get involved and to benefit from the opportunities offered by this special fund. These terms and conditions are not exhaustive - we will be flexible wherever possible, however they are designed to guide you in deciding whether to apply for funding. Firstly, you must be a Newlon resident in order to apply for any of the funding on offer.

There are separate terms and conditions for the Newlon Challenge for Young People which are detailed in the application form. Please note that funding is limited to a maximum of £200 per person or £400 per household. For the Healthwise scheme you will need to be formally referred by a GP or a recognised healthcare professional and funding is also limited to a maximum of £200 per person. You will need to demonstrate that you are attending your programme of training in order to receive funding. The Healthwise programme does not run in all the boroughs where Newlon has residents, however, we will work with you to arrange an equivalent programme up to the same maximum value if you live in an area where it is not available.

We will be as flexible as is practical in supporting request for funding for trips. Please note it should be a group trip or outing, not for example simply a request to fund a personal or family holiday and you need to organise it. We will probably subsidise your activity up to around 50% of the cost. However, if you want to propose an idea to us we will consider it.

There is a limited amount of funding available and we will deal with requests on a first-come, first-served basis until the fund is exhausted. We will update residents in Newlon News and online as to the status of the fund in the autumn. No new applications will be accepted after 31st December 2008, however, we will fund any programmes or activities commenced before then to their conclusion, up to the upper limit of the fund.
