Equality Impact Assessments
As part of our commitment to Equality and Diversity we want to be sure that our policies and procedures are fair to all residents and that there are no barriers to accessing our services.
To help us do this we carry out an Equality Impact Assessment (EIA) every time we update a policy, procedure or service. An EIA is a series of questions that help us to identify whether the way we work might have a negative effect on any of our residents because of their belief, age, disability, gender, ethnicity or sexuality. It helps us to tailor our services to meet the diverse needs of our residents.
Examples of improvements we have made as part of this review process are:
* Employing staff who speak Bengali and Turkish
* Using text messages to contact residents about repairs
* Increasing our Aids and Adaptations service
Get involved
We are currently carrying out EIAs on our repairs service and the reception area in our new office being built in Tottenham Hale. If you would like to help us with either of these reviews or would just like to know more about EIAs and our service improvements, please contact our Resident Involvement Officer, Ewan Moar, by calling him on 020 7613 8084 or email - ewan.moar@newlon.org.uk.
