Becoming a new landlord
You can lease a property to Newlon by following five simple steps.
1. Contact us
The first thing you need to do is to get in touch and register your property details. You can phone us (link to Theresa Griffith, Carolyne Rose, Sharon Watson, Desrine) – alternatively provide group management services number), email managementservices@newlon.org.uk or register on-line. After discussing our requirements, we will arrange to inspect your property.
2. Inspection
We will visit your property to confirm that it is suitable and discuss the benefits of the scheme. Our surveyor will be able to answer any questions that you may have and will take you through the details of any works that need to be done. The surveyor will also be able to make you a rent offer.
3. Letter of Offer
A letter confirming our offer will be sent to you within five working days of the visit to the property. If you are happy with our offer, you will need to sign the acceptance form and return it to us. The letter will detail any work that needs to be done. We will only be able to take the property on if the works are complete within agreed timescales.
4. Final inspection
When you have completed the works we will carry out a final inspection. At this stage we will take photographs of the property and complete a condition schedule. You will also need to supply us with certificates confirming that the property has a valid CP12 (gas safety certificate) and NICEIC (electric certificate).
5. Signing the lease
When your property has passed the final inspection and you have provided us with all the documentation, we will ask you to sign the lease.
